Description
Drawings that explore the Amphora form and the actual pieces that resulted.
These pieces are united within a singular form--the amphora.
I admire the elegance of these ancient vessels; tapered forms which lean against a wall--or against each other--with a foot firmly embedded in a soft dirt floor.
This classical form serves as an ideal canvas upon which the individuality of each form can express itself.
I especially enjoyed the challenge of finding ways to support this ‘footless’ form: the solutions range from standing upright on pedestals to relaxing in various postures.
