The Masons visited Applewoods Studio in summer 1998 and saw the partially finished piece. It was sent to them on approval. They purchased it through the Connell Gallery, where it was part of the 1998 exhibit. Jane & Arthur Mason donated it to the Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC in 2000
