Description

Six connected bowl forms carved from a single piece of yellow birch burl. The connecting points resemble the ball-and-socket form of plastic pop-beads. Pyrography. Watco and Minwax oil finishes.
This group of six ‘siblings,’ sans parent, Pop-Bead Bowls, was informed by the many-lobed form of the original burl. By carving out the ‘ball and socket’ joints, I also created the visual reference to Pop-Beads, a favorite toy for the bevy of girls in my family.
